Updated October 27, 2026. Reading without an account is available. Apple or Google sign-in and cloud backup are optional.

Your journey stays yours

The app works offline. A connected account checks for changes every ten minutes while the app is active and backs up changed records. Unchanged records are not uploaded. Web views check the latest cloud revision when opened. Restoring device journeys requires your confirmation. Sharing progress with a team is a separate choice.

What a fellowship can see

Members see your chosen nickname and overall completed-chapter count for the journey you select. Verses, highlights and book-by-book activity are not shared. Your full backup and private notes are not exposed to group members. A unique team name and password allow immediate joining. Only a salted password hash is stored on the server. The owner can remove members or delete the team.

Local backup preview

A file opened in the local backup viewer stays in this page's memory. It is not uploaded. Clear the preview or close the page to remove it from view. Opening a file does not queue a cloud upload.

Accounts and storage

The service supports Apple and Google sign-in, Supabase for account data, and Cloudflare for hosting. We request only your identity and email/basic profile for sign-in. We do not request Gmail, Drive, or contacts access. Email/password sign-in becomes available only when verification and password-reset email delivery is configured. Personal snapshots are limited to their owning account. No advertising tracker is included. Local drafts are separated by account and stay on this browser until synced or removed.

Whole-Bible reading history

Whole-Bible reading history keeps the IDs of completed journeys and the time their completion was recorded in your account. Deleting an individual journey does not reset this history. Deleting your cloud account removes the server history; device records and backups remain under your control. Only you can read this history. Replaying or skipping the ending does not add another completion. Offline completions wait on your device until the account owning the local data is confirmed and a connection is available.

Retention and deletion

Cloud records remain until you delete your cloud account. Up to two prior snapshots are retained for recovery. Old request receipts and rate-limit windows are cleaned during subsequent account use. Apple revocation credentials are encrypted in Supabase Vault and removed with the account. Device backups remain under your control.

Optional support purchases

Apple processes in-app purchases. We do not receive your payment card details. When you connect an account, we verify and store transaction identifiers, product, currency, amount when supplied by Apple, purchase time, environment and refund or revocation status to prevent duplicate records and show support history. These account-linked records are removed from our database when your cloud account is deleted. Apple maintains its own purchase records under its policies.

Optional encouragement messages

After supporting, you may choose a nickname and message and consent to publishing them on our Support page. We store the message with your account for moderation and removal. Only approved nicknames and messages are public; payment amounts, emails and account identifiers are not displayed. Editing requires a new review. You can remove your message on the Support page while signed in, or contact us. Public caches refresh within one minute. Sandbox test messages are never public.

Service providers and storage

Supabase provides account authentication and stores cloud journeys, team membership and support history. The primary Bible Traveler database is in the United States (us-west-1). Cloudflare provides the website and API infrastructure through its distributed network. Apple and Google process the sign-in you choose; Apple processes iOS purchases. Their infrastructure and operational logs may be processed outside your country. Device-only journeys remain on your device until you choose to connect and back them up.
